The Seeker Package

Decepticon aerospace has long been feared for their effectiveness. The most common among these forces are the Seekers--aerial specialists who excelled in performing seek and destroy missions. Starscream, Skywarp, and Thundercracker were three of the prominent Seekers who came with Megatron to Earth. The Seekers are the 'standard' Decepticon operatives, not just Decepticons with jet-style altmodes.

The Seeker Package has been created so that it is easier for players to create the most common type of Decepticon. Applications need to be very thorough and provide strong OOC reasoning for character staff to approve the player - 4.5 chargen points leaves a lot of room for abuse. This package was made in comparison to the 'standard' Autobot car-character, and it is the difference between the two that results in the 4.5 CPs saved.

What You Get

The following adjustments will be made to your character in chargen if you choose to utilize the Seeker Package:

Normally, purchasing this configuration would cost a player 16.5 Character Points. With the Seeker Package, a player can purchase them for only 12.

Mode 2 Armor must be purchased by the player. The standard level for a jet should be 2 or 3.

Restrictions

Four and a half Character Points (CP) are a lot to add for any character, and the advantage of having the extra help at the start does have some limitations. The following restrictions are in place for players who opt to use the Seeker Package:

  • No Space-Flight or FTL abilities
  • No "advanced" abilities: Enhanced Senses, Sneak, Evade, Radar, Interception, Cloak, Forcefield, Hide
  • Mode 2 must be: Pyramid Jet, F-14, F-15, F-16, or other F- or Su-series jet (If you would like to apply for a different mode, you may do so providing IC justification as to why that particular jet was chosen and why you OOCly want it to be your character's altmode) but note that if rejected, you must choose one of the above modes.)
  • Mode 2 MUST be for aerial-combat, i.e. no bombers or transports
  • No future adjustments or advancement to velocity or size stats

Buying Out

While it doesn't happen very often, it is possible for a seeker to advance beyond their original design. Game-wise, this means it is possible to 'buy out' the seeker package. After you have bought out/off the package, you can do advancements just like any other character, regardless of restrictions.

Of course, there's a catch. Each additional non-seeker modification (ie: Something that you would NOT have been able to upgrade earlier) requires another rebuild of your internal systems.

This all boils down to the following:

  • Buying Out the Seeker Package: 100 AP
  • Future 'non-seeker' Upgrades : standard cost + 10 AP
